Download the early desktop source build. Record a screen or window, edit the guide, and export your files. Mac setup instructions are included.

Source ZIP, under 1 MB. Requires Node.js and setup in Terminal. This is an early test build; signed Mac and Windows installers are not available yet.

On your Mac

Install the macOS LTS installer from Node.js if needed. Then reopen Terminal.
Unzip the download in your Downloads folder and run the commands below.
Allow Electron to record your screen in System Settings → Privacy & Security. Allow Accessibility for click tracking, then restart the app.

The first launch downloads Electron’s desktop runtime. Keep Terminal open while the app runs. Full instructions and troubleshooting are in MAC-TESTING.md inside the download.

Your first recording

Choose a screen or window and select Set up recording.
Record a short task, then stop. Review the captured screenshots.
Edit the placeholder guide and captions, then export a guide and video.
When you want an AI draft, add your Claude API key in Settings and request generation. Review the result before sharing.

Recording, manual editing, and exports work without an API key. AI generation sends selected screenshots and task context to Anthropic and uses your API credits.

What to expect from this build

The Windows recording and export workflow has been tested. A Mac test has captured screen frames and opened them in the editor. Mac exports and live AI generation still need separate testing. This build records silent video and exports WebM, Markdown, and standalone HTML; audio and MP4 export are planned.
