Where your recording goes
- Your computer. The video, the captured frames, the guide text, and your theme live in the app’s memory while you work and in the folders you export to. Aryanna has no server and no account.
- Anthropic, only when you ask. Pressing “Write the guide with AI” sends up to 24 reduced-size frames, your audience choice, and your notes to the Claude API under Anthropic’s commercial terms. Nothing is sent before that, and the video itself is never sent.
- Nowhere else. No analytics, no crash reporting, no telemetry in this version.
What might be in a frame
A frame is a picture of your screen. It can contain names, emails, messages, or secrets if they were visible. Close what you do not want captured before you record. The instructions tell Claude to replace visible passwords and keys with placeholders in the written guide, and the evaluation set tests that, but the frame itself still went to the API.
Your API key
The key is stored with the operating system’s secure storage (Keychain on macOS, DPAPI on Windows) in the app’s data folder, or read from the ANTHROPIC_API_KEY environment variable. It is used only in the app’s main process and never shown to the interface after you save it. “Remove” in Settings deletes it.
